What is FLOSS?

FLOSS, identifies, also in english, the concept of "Free/Libre & Open Source Software", considering the philosophical ideas of Free Software, where "Free" stands for "Libre", as in free speech not free beer, from there "F/L", because in english tends to missunderstand.

The free software, is close to the concept of freeware, but is not free software, and rarely is open source, just is free to download, but doesn't has the characteristics of free software, neither the philosophical alignments of open source.

Newsflash

Open source software (OSS) began as a marketing campaign for free software. OSS can be defined as computer software for which the human-readable source code is made available under a copyright license (or arrangement such as the public domain) that meets the Open Source Definition.
